Kathleen Carver
Education and Experience
Kathy has been active in the Federation since 1989 when
she was in the Louisville youth ministry office and found
herself the host coordinator of the 1989 NCYC. She believes the Federation contributes
to the field by being a vehicle through which: the vision
of youth ministry is refined and proclaimed; diocesan leaders
network, challenge and learn from one another; and the concerns
of youth are voiced to the wider church. Kathy began working at the Federation in September 1993. In 1984 she graduated from Merrimack College with a B.A. in psychology. She is currently pursuing an M.A. in pastoral studies.
Kathy finds her strengths lie in organizing, managing multiple tasks, meeting facilitation, writing, and in youth ministry (both in terms of vision and the practical needs of diocesan leaders).
Personal
Kathy has been married twenty years to Bruce Baumgarten and they are the proud parents of 15-year-old Christine Carver Baumgarten. Together they make their family home in Laurel, Maryland.
