The role

  • A full-time exempt member of the national staff, working closely with the Executive Director.

  • A proactive advocate and communicator of NFCYM, its brand, its stakeholders, its mission, and its products and/or services.

  • A creator and manager of a strategic communication plan that ensures clarity and consistency across all communications with a clear identity that reflects the mission, vision, values, priorities and services of NFCYM.


The Responsibilities

  • Perform as a lay ecclesial minister in the NFCYM in support of the spiritual and pastoral mission; perform as both a spiritual and administrative leader of the organization

  • Shall abide by Catholic principles in the employee’s professional and public life, and shall govern his/her professional and public life in accordance with Catholic morals and principles to demonstrate adherence to Catholic moral strictures

  • Develop and implement a strategic communications plan for curating or producing quality content for a broad-based and balanced communications: print, electronic-based newsletters/emails, website, media and public relations, video, photographs, surveys, and social media initiatives leading to measurable increased engagement within target audiences

  • Manage and coordinate press and media relations for all events

Basic Qualifications



Must have a working knowledge of and a strong commitment to the mission of the NFCYM and the Catholic Church; be in full communion with the Church.


Must demonstrate a high level of competency in building and maintaining relationships, managing others, influencing others, consulting, critical thinking skills, project management, and pioneering new approaches.


Two to three years’ minimum related experience in a progressively responsible professional marketing role and experience working with national, regional, and/or diocesan Catholic church structures.



Ability to work unsupervised, make high-level decisions independently, and solve problems effectively and creatively.


Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and public speaking and presentation skills.


Punctuality is a must, with an ability and willingness to travel and work irregular hours including weekends depending on organizational commitments.
