2006 NCCYM—Workshops

All workshops are 90 minutes in length and focus on specific knowledge, skills, and abilities needed by youth ministry professionals in the particular area indicated by the title. Most workshops will be geared toward youth ministry leaders and catechists with an average experience level of seven years.

In addition to the regular workshops, there are several special options from which to choose.

Special Tracks

Tracks are an intentional series of workshop sessions designed around a particular theme which are offered during each of the three workshop rounds. Attendance is open to all conference attendees without any additional costs and do not necessarily need to be attended collectively. If you see a particular track workshop of interest, you may attend that one without having to attend the others in that series. Track themes include:

Sports and Spirituality Symposium

Developing Mission Effective Athletic Programs
Saturday, December 2, 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Make the connection between sports and spirituality by exploring the principles of Catholic athletic programs rooted in the mission and values of the Gospel. This symposium provides an excellent opportunity to connect leaders across different groups who minister with young people including parish and school leaders, coaches, and athletic administrators. Attendance at the symposium requires an additional fee of $30, which includes lunch. Use the Conference Registration form to register for the Sports and Spirituality Symposium.

Resource Spotlights

Resource Spotlights are specialized presentations by sponsors held either prior to the morning general sessions or during lunch breaks. These one hour sessions highlight a particular resource or program. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged by those who plan on attending. Many provide simple refreshments.
