NCYC General Information

Attire

NCYC is a casual dress event. Casual dress includes blue jeans, but prohibits short shorts, tank tops, tube tops, and anything that does not promote Christian values including references to tobacco or alcohol products. Health regulations require that shoes be worn at all times in public areas.

Backpacks, Bags, and Purses

Please bring only necessary items to the Georgia Dome and Georgia World Congress Center. If you choose to bring a backpack, purse, or other bag, it must be marked with a special tag, which you can obtain from your group leader. Do not remove the tag until after the conclusion of NCYC and you are on your way home. Untagged bags may be searched. Unattended bags may be removed and discarded by security personnel.

Chapel and Prayer Room

This year we have two chapels: the Adoration Chapel, located in Room B218, and the Prayer Room, located in Room B216-217, both on Level Two of Building B of the Georgia World Congress Center. See Chapel Schedule for more information on prayer opportunities in the chapels.

Concelebration of Masses

Priests wishing to concelebrate the daily or closing Mass must provide their own alb and stole. For daily liturgy, vesting will take place at the back of the room just prior to the start of Mass. For closing liturgy, priests are asked to gather at 7:30 p.m. in Meeting Room 3 located on the Service (floor) Level of the Georgia Dome for vesting and final instructions. To access Meeting Room 3, enter the Georgia Dome through Gate E.

Credentials/Name Badges

You must wear your official NCYC name badge to be admitted to NCYC functions. Do not lose your credential. A lost badge is a potential security risk. To obtain a replacement badge go to the Registration Hall on the main level of Building B in the Georgia World Congress Center. Photo identification will be required to issue a new badge. Young people without photographic identification must be accompanied by their group leader or chaperone, who will be asked for photo identification. A $10 fee must be paid in order to receive a new credential.

Daily Briefings

The NFCYM will hold daily briefings for diocesan group leaders or their representatives in Room B207 on Level Two of Building B of the Georgia World Congress Center. Briefings will be at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. These briefings are opportunities to get updates on changes in programming, logistics, and security and to address issues of concern. Please be sure that one member of your delegation’s leadership team attends each day. Attendance is noted.

Daily Liturgy

Liturgy will be offered on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in Hall B2 on Level One of Building B and Friday at 12:00 p.m. in the Murphy Ballroom on Level Five of Building B in the Georgia World Congress Center. Priests wishing to concelebrate must provide their own alb and stole.

Diocesan Mail Boxes

Each diocese will have a mail box in the NCYC Office located in Room B208 on Level Two of the Georgia World Congress Center. NFCYM and others will use the mail boxes as a means of communication with diocesan groups. A representative of each diocese should check the box several times each day.

Emergency Assistance - Georgia World Congress Center

In the event of an emergency in the Georgia World Congress Center, pick up a house phone and dial security at extension 4911 or by cell phone at 404-223-4911. Any individual with a facility or event radio can also call for security or medical assistance. Due to the facility’s size and number of entrances, directly calling 911 from a cellular or pay telephone may actually delay a response.
