2007 YMRM, Poster, and Prayer CardThe 2007 Youth Ministry Resource Manual focuses on Jesus Christ. It is designed to help our young people know Jesus, as God and human, as brother and friend, and as a model for living in today’s world. The sessions contained in the manual will help them deepen their relationships with Jesus Christ and with others. They have been developed to help youth ministry, campus, and catechetical leaders address some of the more important characteristics of Christ. These characteristics include:

  • The Humanity of Christ
  • The Divinity of Christ
  • Christ’s Love
  • The Forgiving Christ
  • Christ as Leader
  • The Universal Christ

A Variety of Strategies and Resources

Within this manual you will find a multitude of teaching and learning styles, as well as a variety of ways to engage young people. Included are:

  • A set of leadership building sessions with Christ as the example of good leadership
  • A reconciliation service that engages participants in thoughtful reflections on Christ’s messages
  • A retreat designed to engage the youth in a critical look at popular media through the eyes of Christ
  • A session highlighting the humanity and divinity of Christ

Each of the approaches is used to help young people identify with Christ, be motivated by him, and to live as Christians in the modern world. They are intended to be part of the discovery process.

As in previous years, a special segment in the Youth Ministry Resource Manual assists Catholic parish and school communities reflect on and collaboratively plan for the National Celebration of World Youth Day on October 28, 2007.
