Darius Villalobos
Senior Project Manager
Learn More About Darius:
Q1. WHAT IS YOUR JOB TITLE?
Senior Project Manager
Q2. WHAT ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES?
As Senior Project Manager, I oversee three projects under NFCYM’s Diversity and Inclusion efforts: Encountering Christ, the Imago Dei Leadership Initiative, and our Diversity + Inclusion Training. I also serve as a resource and consultant to NFCYM teams and members regarding diversity and inclusion.
Q3. WHY DO YOU WORK FOR NFCYM?
I believe in NFCYM’s mission. I also want to help build loving and inclusive communities in the Catholic church for young people so that today’s youth can have the same opportunities that I had as a teenager.
Q4. Who accompanied you as a young person?
It took a whole village! However, if I had to be specific, our parish DRE and Pastoral Associates were the first people (outside of my family) to encourage me to use my gifts in service of the parish community. Their encouragement and accompaniment are the reasons I started as a catechist.
Q5. WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTHS?
My top Clifton Strengths are: Connectedness, Context, Relator, Learner, and Arranger
What does that mean? I love listening and learning from others and helping develop relationships with the amazing people in this ministry.
Q6. What is something most people don’t know about you?
I have a pet turtle named Wendy who is old enough to legally drive – if turtles could drive!
Q7. CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT…
If you have questions about how your ministry can be more intentionally diverse and welcoming of young people, if you need support on how to engage a specific cultural community, or if you want to get involved with any of the new project teams in development, please contact us.
I am based in Chicago, IL and can be reached at [email protected] or at 202-301-5166.
