Project Coordinator

Learn More About Kathleen:

Q1. WHAT IS YOUR JOB TITLE?

Project Coordinator

Q2. WHAT ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES?

As Project Coordinator, I oversee the research, data management, grant processes, and report writing for the Accompaniment Project and the Drexel Project, NFCYM’s Faith and Service Initiative. I support communication between NFCYM, our project participants, researchers, and partners to ensure projects run efficiently and advance NFCYM’s strategy and storytelling.

Q3. WHY DO YOU WORK FOR NFCYM?

My background in teaching, especially my years spent working at tribal community schools, informs my work. I am passionate about valuing and elevating the voices and experiences of young people, especially those whose stories are not often told. I am drawn to NFCYM’s mission to engage young people as protagonists of their faith journeys. I am excited to walk in accompaniment alongside young people, and I strive to further Pope Francis’ vision of the Church as a place for “todos, todos, todos!”

Q4. WHO ACCOMPANIED YOU AS A YOUNG PERSON?

My grandmother’s strong, Irish Catholic faith laid the foundation for me, and her example of steadfast faith still guides me to this day. I was also fortunate to have a pastor and youth leaders who welcomed me to bring my authentic self to my faith. Embracing this authenticity allowed me to thrive and take on various leadership roles in campus ministry that led me to grow in my own faith while learning from others.

Q5. What are your Strengths?

My top five Clifton Strengths are: Developer, Belief, Empathy, Positivity, and Learner.

Q6. What has been your favorite moment in Ministry?

My time engaging in service in Latin America has given me countless moments that live close to my heart; exchanging rosaries with community elders, playing with the children, building youth centers, ministering to patients at rural clinics, learning about local saints, and sharing profound conversations about walking in solidarity with Christ and with one another. Bearing witness to these beautiful faith encounters keeps my spirit of acompañamiento burning brightly.

Q7. CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT…

Contact me if you have questions about project research, data coordination, microgrant processes, or report writing.

I am based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and can be reached at [email protected] or (219) 243-5569.
