Epic cultural forces have created both personal and relational spaces of darkness that leave us aching for Light. In this reflection we first pay attention to the ways we are all subjected to the forces that create this darkness, such as increasing anxiety, worsening empathy, and the disappearance of civility. We will then consider how the integration of ancient spiritual practices and current brain science can empower us to be bearers of light, particularly as we move through these last weeks of Advent.

Dr. Tim Hogan is a psychologist, Certified Imago Relationship Therapist, and former director of the Grace Counseling Center in Detroit. He just published his second book, The Gift of Cultural Hurricanes: Tools to Rebuild Authentic Spirituality. Learn more at DrTimHogan.com
