HOLY FIRE
A MIDDLE SCHOOL EVENT
LIKE NO OTHER!
A Day of Encounter for Middle School Youth
Holy Fire is a faith formation event for young people where the work of a host diocese or region stretches across the aisles into religious education, Catholic schools, multi-cultural ministries, etc.
At Holy Fire, young people are invited and challenged to embrace their baptismal call and the powerful, relevant gospel of Jesus through talks by dynamic speakers, witnessing by peers, inspirational praise and worship, and rich experiences of the Eucharist through adoration and Mass. We have reached more than 34,000 middle school youth through events hosted in the Chicago, Great Lakes, Nashville, and South Texas regions.
Mission
Holy Fire supports and strengthens those who accompany young people by offering dynamic faith formation events to middle school youth, and by providing a variety of resources before and after the event.
Vision
Holy Fire helps to set in motion the future when young people see themselves as children of God and missionary disciples of Jesus Christ. Holy Fire can be a spark for young people and their commitment to Jesus Christ. When so many young people disaffiliate around age 13, this event can help young people feel seen, welcomed, and invited into the joy of the Catholic faith.
Values
Holy Fire is a ministry rooted in prayer and sacraments, with Mass, adoration, and reconciliation as cornerstones of the event. Baptismal call of each person to discipleship, mission and holiness: the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation are foundational to Holy Fire and its thematic messages. Holy Fire also seeks to be a culturally diverse event, where young people can see themselves represented on stage and in their faith.

Read More about our Partnership with DWP
Six years ago, NFCYM responded to a need for middle school engagement with the launch of Holy Fire, a one-day faith-filled event hosted by interested member dioceses.
Declan Weir Productions (DWP), a key partner to the success of Holy Fire from its inception, has stepped forward to assist NFCYM with furthering its impact. Beginning July 1, NFCYM will license EQ Saints, a division of DWP, as our preferred provider for future Holy Fire events. EQ Saints will handle the production, planning, programming, and execution with NFCYM supporting their marketing efforts and participating in ongoing program evaluation.
