Encountering Christ: A Series of Conversations from the Black and African American Catholic Community
In honor of the feast of St. Peter Claver, patron saint of African Missions and Interracial Justice, NFCYM is happy to share a new video series as part of our diversity and inclusion efforts: Encountering Christ: A Series of Conversations from the Black and African American Catholic Community. We hope that this series can serve as a tool for our members to become aware, celebrate, and encounter one another as members of the Body of Christ present in unique cultural realities. This series creates an opportunity to hear from our own NFCYM members that are part of the Black and African American Catholic Community. Their own voices share with us their experiences and insights. We invite you to join us in listening to what our brothers and sisters have to share.
Our series is shaped as a conversation divided among four video segments covering different aspects of the Black and African American Catholic Community accompanied with reflection questions. These four segments cover the following:
- History of Faith
- Current Realities
- Pastoral Ministry
- Youth Ministry
For more information about our series please feel free to connect with Darius Villalobos, Director of Diversity and Inclusion at [email protected] or Lesly Gonzalez-Barragan our intern at [email protected].
