Coordinator for Family Formation and Children’s Catechesis

Location: Archdiocese of Washington – Washington, DC

Job Description: The mission of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington is to spread the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. In the faithful pursuit of this mission, the archdiocese is seeking a Coordinator for Family Formation and Children’s Catechesis. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Lifelong Formation and will support both English and Spanish-speaking parishes as they develop faith formation models for children and families in light of the archdiocesan “Forming Disciples Religion Curriculum Guide.” This position is also responsible for ensuring implementation and compliance with the annual Safe Environment training of students in parish religious education programs as well as the implementation of annual Faith Knowledge Assessment. The Coordinator supports the Secretariat with all large-scale events.

The Coordinator must have an energy and enthusiasm born of a spirit of mission for the Gospel as she/he supports parish leaders and catechists. Accountability, attention to detail, excellent written and verbal skills, and a synodal, collaborative ministerial spirit are essential for success in this role.

Job Description: The Youth and Young Adult Minister for Diocese of Norwich serves by developing, supporting, and coordinating comprehensive ministry efforts to engage and evangelize youth (grades 6–12) and young adults (ages 18–39) across the diocese. This role fosters discipleship, leadership, and community through formation, service, liturgy, and fellowship, in alignment with the mission of the Catholic Church.
