Coordinator of Youth Ministry

Location: Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana

Job Description: The Coordinator of Youth Ministry establishes and coordinates a comprehensive Middle and High School Youth Ministry program at designated parishes within Greater Lafayette that supports all areas of spiritual development.  Leads by relationship building, presence, hands-on-managerial, and communicating with pastors at designated parishes.

Responsibilities include: strategic planning of events across the Greater Lafayette area to maximize youth participation; recruiting, training, and building Youth Ministry Core Teams; coordinating and planning local youth participation in diocesan, state, and national events; supporting the logistics of the large city-wide events including site selection, volunteers, programming and content, clergy involvement; partnering with parents and families to support youth discipleship; communicating ministry goals and expectations to help strengthen faith formation in the home and to reach our youth.

Director of Campus Ministry

Location: Diocese of Richmond – (James Madison University)

Job Description: The Catholic Diocese of Richmond is seeking a Director of Campus Ministry to serve the Catholic Campus Ministry at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.

James Madison University is a public, liberal arts university with an undergraduate population of approximately 20,000 students. The Director of Campus Ministry is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of a comprehensive campus ministry program for the students of the JMU. Furthermore, these responsibilities include developing student leaders, pastorally responding to student needs, and overseeing student programs and activities.

Additionally, the Director oversees financial accounts, serves as the liaison between the local Catholic parish, furthers development efforts and campaigns, and builds interfaith relationships among the other campus ministries. The Director also supervises a staff, including a Priest Chaplain, Director of Development, and FOCUS team.

Job Description: The Catholic Diocese of Richmond is seeking a Director of Campus Ministry to serve college students in the Roanoke Valley. Colleges served include Roanoke College, Ferrum College, Hollins University, and Virginia Western Community College. Roanoke College is expected to be 50% or more of the roll.

Roanoke College is a private liberal arts college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, with an enrollment of approximately 2,000 students. The Coordinator of Campus Ministry is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of a campus ministry program for the students of Roanoke College. These responsibilities include coordinating Mass, developing student leaders, pastorally responding to student needs, and overseeing student programs and activities. Additionally, the Coordinator oversees financial accounts and serves as the liaison between the local Catholic parish.

Campus Minister

Job Description: Under the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis and with established policies and procedures, the Campus Minister’s primary responsibilities are planning and implementing programs and activities related to campus ministry outreach. Such duties include but are not limited to: planning and coordinating social, spiritual, and educational opportunities geared toward college students; offer spiritual companionship; inviting students to events; accompany students in their faith journey; maintaining member database; promoting the Campus Ministry to the university and colleges, parishes, and general community; supervising and mentoring student leaders; acting as a liaison to university administrations. Through a comprehensive pastoral approach, this role helps students encounter Christ and grow as disciples in the Catholic faith.

Director for Youth and Young Adult Ministry

Location: Archdiocese of Washington (DC)

Job Description: The mission of the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington is to spread the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. To further the mission and deep spiritual hunger among young adults and a strong desire for authentic community, spiritual depth, mentorship, and meaningful accompaniment in the life of the Church, the Archdiocese seeks a Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. This role will lead and coordinate the Church’s outreach to young adults across the archdiocese. This role will help cultivate vibrant communities of faith by supporting parish-based ministries, forming young adult leaders, and creating opportunities for encounter with Christ through prayer, formation, retreats, and community life.

The Director will work collaboratively with pastors, campus ministries, parish leaders, and young adult volunteers to foster a culture of missionary discipleship rooted in authentic relationships, reverent liturgy, and the sacramental life of the Church.

Assistant Director for Youth and Young Adult Ministry

Location: Archdiocese of Las Vegas

Job Description: The principal function of the Archdiocesan Coordinator for Youth and Young Adult Ministries will be to collaborate with the Archdiocesan Faith Formation Staff and Directors and Coordinators for Parish Youth Ministries, the Archbishop of Las Vegas, and the Pastors of parishes and provide support as they strive to respond to the needs of young people in their local communities. (Youth and Young Adults will be described as Middle School aged teens and pre-teens, High School aged teens, and young adults to about age 35.)

The Archdiocesan Assistant Director for Youth and Young Adult Ministries works under and in collaboration with the Archdiocesan Director of Faith Formation in extending the ministry of the Bishop, with parish Directors and Coordinators for Youth Ministry, to “respond to the needs of young people and to involve young people in sharing their unique gifts with the larger community” (Renewing the Vision, pg 9). To accomplish this task the person in this position must have demonstrated competence in applying the standards of comprehensive youth ministry and the goals of ministry with adolescents as outlined by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishop’s 1997 document Renewing the Vision: a framework for Catholic youth ministry.

Diocesan Director of Youth Ministry

Job Description: The Director of Youth Ministry is responsible for visioning, articulating, and executing a creative ministry plan to foster young disciples in parishes, schools, and ecclesial movements. The coordinator articulates goal-oriented, measurable pathways for ministry with young people in middle and high school that are authentically relational by implementing a focused approach to the primary purpose of effective ministry: an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. This person will be successful if he or she can create a vibrant plan to implement a comprehensive ministry to, with, and for young people in our parishes, schools, and diocese.
