The National Youth Advisory Council returns from meeting with the Holy Father
Washington, D.C., October 28, 2022 – Just one month ago, on September 28, NFCYM announced that the National Youth Advisory Council had been granted an audience with the Holy Father, Pope Francis.
The National Youth Advisory Council met with the Holy Father on October 12, 2022, at the conclusion of the general audience in Rome.
Since then, the National Youth Advisory Council has returned home and they are ready to share the story of their pilgrimage with others, most especially the message Pope Francis would like to share with the young people of the United States.
"Sean alegres, que no pierdan la alegria...Be joyful, and don't lose that joy."
- Pope Francis
Thank you to Rome Reports for the video and interview.
Other media coverage of the pilgrimage:
I think that we are going to try to create a better home for Catholic youth, make it more inspiring, so that they feel more comfortable and that they have a sense of peace with their Church.
- Julia Zerbes
What’s next?
These young people will formally share our Holy Father’s message at the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) in November in Long Beach, CA.
Then, the council will work collaboratively with their local and diocesan communities, and with all members of NYAC to ensure our Holy Father’s message reaches the young church. Their efforts will include digital campaigns, blogs, video projects, and witness reflections.
