WASHINGTON D.C., June 5, 2024 – The National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM) is pleased to announce that it has been invited to participate in Nuevo Momento, a new initiative hosted by Boston College. The initiative is supported by a $15 million grant from Lilly Endowment, Inc. and seeks to empower Hispanic pastoral leaders-and others-working in faith-based organizations that serve the Hispanic community.
NFCYM will join 14 other organizations to strengthen organizational capacity; enhance financial sustainability; provide academic formation for a new generation of leaders, with particular focus on empowering U.S.-born/U.S.-reared Hispanic young adults.
Nuevo Momento: Leadership and Capacity Building for Ministerial Organizations Serving Hispanic Catholics is a five-year collaborative project that aims to strengthen capacity among ministerial organizations led by and serving Hispanic Catholics so they can advance their respective missions more effectively. Nuevo Momento will be directed by BC School of Theology and Ministry Associate Professor of Hispanic Ministry and Religious Education Hosffman Ospino.
NFCYM is committed to empowering young Hispanic Catholics and fostering growth in the next generation of Catholic leaders. Christopher Leach, Director of Strategy for NFCYM states, “We are deeply grateful to Dr. Ospino and the Nuevo Momento team for selecting us. We are excited to grow as an organization and we look forward to deepening our relationship with the other participating organizations.”
