OneTable FAQ's

What is OneTable?

OneTable is an initiative of the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM) that is focused on inspiring, equipping, and empowering parents and ministry leaders to partner together to raise children in faith.

What is the goal of OneTable?

OneTable seeks to train 1,500 Catholic ministry leaders across the United States to dialogue with parents and to reach 75% of US Catholic dioceses with the OneTable resources and trainings by the end of 2027.

What are the components of the OneTable Initiative?

The initiative uses a 3 prong approach:

  1. Hosting Deep Dives in 20 dioceses across the country to train parish ministry leaders how to listen well to the needs of the families in their communities.
  2. Launching a parent facing marketing campaign to inspire parents to dialogue with parish leaders about their needs and what partnership in faith formation means to them.
  3. Implementing a bishops strategy with the establishment of a Bishop Advisory Council who host a Bishops’ Gathering every 2 years to dialogue with bishops about what families need and how the church can better partner with them.

What is the Family Ministry Coalition?

In addition to the components of the initiative, NFCYM is also establishing a Family Ministry Coalition comprised of family-serving organizations who will advocate for the initiative, share resources with the communities who are part of it, and share with each other trends and ideas in family ministry to better serve families.

Who is on the Bishop Advisory Council?

  • Bishop Brendan J. Cahill – Bishop of Victoria, Champion Bishop
  • Bishop Gary W. Janak – Auxiliary Bishop of San Antonio
  • Bishop Oscar Cantú – Bishop of San Jose
  • Bishop Arturo Cepeda – Auxiliary Bishop of Detroit
  • Bishop Joseph A. Espaillat – Auxiliary Bishop of New York
