Pathways to Accompaniment

Exploring Ten Foundational Themes

Christus Vivit: The Pathways to Accompaniment

Resources for Journeying with Youth and Young Adults

Members of NFCYM gathered to help unpack the first magisterial document written not just about young people, but directly to them, Christus Vivit. They created a four-part webinar series on 10 major themes of Christus Vivit to help you and the young people you serve explore and implement the document in a practical way.

Note: The accompanying study guide will be available again on July 15 with the launch of a new NFCYM store.

CHRISTUS VIVIT: PATHWAY TO ACCOMPANIMENT SERIES SESSION 1 – TEN FOUNDATIONAL THEMES

Presented by: Brian Henritze, Katie Prejean McGrady, and Paul Jarzembowski
Moderated by: Dr. Charlotte McCorquodale and Rudy Dehaney

It has been just over a year since Pope Francis promulgated Christus Vivit, the fruits of which the church is still unpacking. As the first magisterial document written not just about young people, but directly to them, Christus Vivit should, and does, have a far reaching impact on all ministry involving young people. This webinar will provide an overview of the 10 major themes of Christus Vivit while introducing new resources from NFCYM designed to help you and the young people you serve explore and implement the document. The next three webinars in this series look at way to put into action several of these key themes.

CHRISTUS VIVIT: PATHWAY TO ACCOMPANIMENT SERIES SESSION 2  – PATHWAYS TO MINISTRY

Presented by: Paul Jarzembowski and Brenda Noriega
Moderated by: Dr. Charlotte McCorquodale and Rudy Dehaney

Young people today do not perceive or interact with the church or the world in the same way as their counterparts of the past. Those who engage in ministry to, with, by, and for young people must also learn to perceive ministry differently and interact with young people in a more intentional manner. While Christus Vivit was not written as a blueprint for ministry with young people there are within it key pathways presented which inspire us with a compelling and exciting view of the future of our ministry.

CHRISTUS VIVIT: PATHWAY TO ACCOMPANIMENT SERIES SESSION 3 – PATHWAYS TO LEADERSHIP

Presented by: Brian Henritze and Tracey Lamont
Moderated by: Dr. Charlotte McCorquodale and Rudy Dehaney

The experience of being young is filled with joys, challenges, obstacles, and opportunities. While accompanying young people through these experiences it can be tempting to see ourselves as the driving force of ministry with young people, in turn causing them to be recipients of ministry rather than protagonists in it. This webinar explores the various ways that the call to leadership is experienced and lived out by young people. It explores practical ways to engage them as protagonists, agents, and prophets of change within the church.

CHRISTUS VIVIT: PATHWAY TO ACCOMPANIMENT SERIES SESSION 4  – PATHWAYS TO MISSION

Presented by: Nicole Perone and Fr. Rafael Capo
Moderated by: Dr. Charlotte McCorquodale and Rudy Dehaney

One of the main focus areas of Christus Vivit is vocation and discernment. While many who serve young people in the church have holistic view of vocation the truth is that young people often do not. Within Christus Vivit vocation is intimately linked with mission. This webinar presents ways in which to present young people with a compelling and attractive understanding of both the universal call to holiness and the particular vocations which Jesus calls each of them to.
