Q4. Who accompanied you as a young person?

I had many people in my life who accompanied me and helped me get to where I am today. In my junior year of high school, my parish received a new youth minister who was on fire for the formation of young people. In my first year of college, she would go on to hire me as her assistant, teach me the “behind the scenes” of ministry (admin work, woh!), push me to experience the larger church and attend things like World Youth Day, and eventually become an amazing friend.

Q5. WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTHS?

My top five Clifton Strengths are: Connectedness, Relator, Achiever, Discipline, & Arranger.

What does that mean? I like seeing how things are “mapped” out and how one decision affects the next step.

Q6. What is your most embarrassing moment in ministry?

My most embarrassing moment in ministry was when I was hosting our annual end-of-year beach bonfire. The day happened to fall on a student’s 16th birthday, so his parents dropped off a cake. As I walked from the cooler to the student, everyone sang Happy Birthday, and he blew the candles out. This entire time, I was kneeling while holding the cake. As I stood up, I lost balance and dropped the entire cake into the fire pit. This student is now a 25-year-old missionary and loves to bring the story up whenever I happen to run into him.
