Q&A with Christopher Leach,
Director of Strategy and Formation
Where are you based?
In beautiful Livonia, MI on the west side of Detroit!
How long have you worked for NFYCM?
Only since February 2022, so I’m still learning everything!
Outside of work, what do you like to do?
I’m a huge fan of cooking—the hardest part of working remote is that I can’t bring treats into the office and there are no potlucks! I also like to read all of the books—all of them. Further, I have three pets—a dog, a cat, and a geriatric hedgehog!
What is something about you that most folks might not know?
By day I work for NFCYM, by night I am one of the high school youth ministers at my home parish, Our Lady of Good Counsel in Plymouth, MI.
What do you do at NFYCM?
My job is to turn the big picture into the day to day—as Director of Strategy I help NFCYM live into our goals and values every day. My other hat is Director of Formation—where I work with diverse groups of members to make sure that everyone in the NFCYM community has opportunities to grow as a minister and reach their full potential!
What is the best part about your job – why do you do what you do?
I am an extrovert in the most extreme sense of the word—so working with the many diverse people that make up NFCYM is the highlight of this job! There are so many people in NFCYM that I still have not met—and I hope some of them are reading this and reach out!
